MPAI is the voice of music publishers advocating for a strong copyright framework that is fit for purpose in the digital age. We fight for the rights of our members and the creators we are privileged to represent.

MPAI was engaged in lobbying Government for the faithful transposition of the European Copyright Directive and we are delighted by the successful outcome of this effort. The recently signed Copyright Directive can be viewed on the link below and we would draw members attention to Part 5 on page 22 in particular.

MPAI is a member of the International Confederation of Music Publishers (ICMP), the global trade body for our industry.  Two of our Board members are also on the Board of ICMP (including its Chair), advocating for our members’ interests around the world.  

In the Members’ Area, you will find regular updates on global developments in copyright and industry lobbying efforts including the ICMP Weekly Wrap.  We also provide briefings explaining the likely impact of changes in the law for our industry.  We are a community standing together to defend the musical works that are the bedrock of the music industry.
